Despite losing to Ballinasloe in the final group game on Monday evening last ,our Under 14 s have qualified for the Quarter Finals .
Victories over Abbeyknockmoy and Sylane in earlier rounds ensured qualification.
The game against Ballinasloe ,played at Kilconieron, was not of consequence to either team as both had already qualified for the knockout stages.
The S/K squad was depleted on the evening and lost on a scoreline of 4-5 to 2-4.

Despite leading early on ,S/K trailed by 2-2 to 1-3 at the interval. All S/K scores, including 1-1 from play and 0-2 from frees, came from midfielder Alan Kilkelly who was in superb form .

S/K moved Joseph McNamara to full back for the second half to curb the strong Ballinasloe full forward and while this was effective ,the team missed  his presence at centre back, particularly his long deliveries to launch attacks.
Ballinasloe added further scores, including two well taken goals after the interval, to widen the margin.
A point from play by David Mannion and a late goal from a free by Joseph McNamara were S/K's only scores in the second half.

The good news is that we have qualified for the Quarter Final which is against Ahascragh /Fohenagh on Monday evening next at 6.30 pm at Carnmore.
Training continues  on Thursday evening at 6.30 pm at Cappagh in preparation for this and a full attendance  of the panel is expected.
