The Under 14 Footbalers were competing in the A and the B Féile competitions this weekend.
The A team played a very strong Claregalway team in their first game on Saturday morning in Claregalway and fought exptremely hard to come back to get a well deserved draw. They then defeated Dunmore easily to set up a playoff against Claregalway to progress. Unfortunately a first half goal proved the decesive score and our lads wen down by a socreline of 1-2 to 0-2. Clageralway progressed through the subsequent rounds and will now represent the county at teh national Féile.
The juvenile section would like to thank the players and management for their hard work in the off season. Padraic O'Connor and Tony Durkin boty put in a tremendous effort and were assisted by Brendan Kane and Richard Hughe. This is a fine team, with marvelous footballers and will be strong contenders for the Under 14 League and Championship.
Meanwhile the Under 14 B side defeated Claregalway in the Prairie on Saturday morning to qualify for the county final on Sunday in Tuam. Here, they came up against a strong Kilconly team and were defeated by the minimum margin. As this team is mainly made up of younger under 13s, their performance was very good. Our thanks again to their management team of Padraig Dempsey, Jarlath McInerney, Martin Cleary, Frank Ward and Paul Clarke.
