This year the Parish Football League will begin on Tuesday May, 18th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. It will move to the Wednesady at the same time slot from weeks 2 to 6.

The first slot (6:00 to 7:00 pm) is for U9's and U10's while the second slot (7:00 to 8:00 pm) is for the U11's and U12's.

UPDATE : The U11's and 12's will have rescheduled their first slot to an alternate time due to a clash with the U12 Semi-Final against Bearna. Mike Lally will issue an update via text.

So come on you potential Kingstonites or Devon Parkers, why not come on down to the Prairie and join in with the rest of the parish and have the craic and experience a great footballing occassion.

Looking forward to seeing you all on the 18th of May!

Juvenile Football Pure Skill Fundraising Challenge

Juvenile football are organising a fundraising event in Pure Skill on March 23rd / 24th and 25th next. The idea is to raise money for juvenile football while at the same time allowing the lads and girls to have a great night out.

We are looking to run three separate nights with Boys U12/U13's on Tuesday 23rd, Boys U14 Feile Team on Wednesday with the lads and girls of the U15/U16's going head-to-head on Thursday 25th.

The format for the competiton is a 3-person team competing with up to 20 other teams on the night - that's 60 people. It will be a "shot-gun" type start beginning at 7 p.m. and finishing at around 9 p.m. Tickets are priced at €15 per head with a portion going to the club and the remainder going to Pure Skill.

We encourage parents to take part at the U12/13 and U14 slots and hope that this will allow greater overall participation in the club while at the same time raising monies to allow us to equip our teams and send them on important developmental away trips.

We are also looking for sponsor for each sports cage on the night. There are ten sports in all: Gaelic Football, Hurling, Soccer, Rugby, Tennis, Baseball, Basketball, Cricket, Golf Putting and Golf Chipping so we are trying to get people to sponsor a cage. Please contact me on 0872485377 or Rory (0871205913), Mike (0872513644) or Brian (0872346175).

So - Do your best and please support this fundraising effort! Get your granny involved and let her help you to make mince meat of the opposition!

The Juvenile year is getting off to a great start this year with the involvement of up to 35 coaches and mentors across all age groups.

U16

Brendan Kane and company have been back training for sometime now and can be found, together with the U15's led by Paudie O'Riordan, at Cappagh Park on Sunday mornings from 11:00 to 12:30.

U15

City League

Competition begins last Sunday in August.

Annaghdown, Barna, Claregalway, Micheal Breathnachs, Moycullen, Oranmore

U14

This year's Féile team under the guidance of Padraig Dempsey, PJ Kelly, Mark Butler, Martin Clery and Anthony Finnerty are back training for the last couple of weeks and had a great run out against Tuam Stars under lights in Tuam last week. A big thanks to their hosts for reffing the first two quarters and for providing great opposition on the night. It was a great training exercise for both teams.

Féile this year takes place over the weekend of 17th/18th of April. The venue for the first round is Oughterard.

U13

The under 13's are straining to get out of the blocks this spring and will begin their training sessions next Sunday, 7th of March at St. Mary's at 11. We will partake in a city league starting in June, while the county league will be in August. We will also have a team in the U14B Féile competition in An Cheathrú Rua on the weekend of April 17th / 18th. We also hope to participate in the Austin Stacks tournament in Tralee in September.

City League Teams

Barna, Claregalway, Clarinbridge, Moycullen, St James

U12

Mike Lally, Anthony Finnerty and Frank Woods have been beavering away with the U12's both indoor and outdoor on a Sunday morning. This team will have a City League and a county league to look forward to this year and hopefully some trips to away tournaments later in the year.

City League

Competition beginning on last Sunday in March.

Barna, Claregalway, Clarinbridge, Micheal Breathnach’s, Moycullen, Oranmore, Annaghdown

U11

Like the U13's this group are due to start shortly under Ger O'Farrell, assisted by David O'Connor and Prionsias Kitt.

City League

U11's will not have a repeat of the "Blitz" format of last year, however, they will have an "informal" competition beginning in mid-May with agreement between the clubs with respect to format of games – how-many-a-side, rules etc. The participants in this league have not yet been finalised.

U10

The boys born in 2000 have done a lot of training indoors in the new Knocknacarra National School at 6:00 pm on Tuesday nights. They have now moved outdoors from Feb 23rd and can be found on the bottom pitches in Col. Einde, Threadneedle Rd every Tuesday at 5pm. As the light improves, this time will move later.

A trip to Maynooth is planned for early April, final details to be confirmed. All coaches (Brendan, Dave, Denis, Eamon, Mairtin and Paul) are very enthused by the great response at training from this age group. There are no formal competitions at this age groups so the managers intend to host friendlies and blitzes over the season.

U9

Norman Costello's lads have started back tarining and can be found up in St. Enda's on a Sunday morning at 11:00am.

U8

John Daly is in charge of this group and has also been back training, together with Alan Mulholland's U7's, in the Aras.
